LADAMA is a collective practice of women musicians that harness music from Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela and the United States to produce Latin Alternative music.
LADAMA’s debut, self-titled album, released in September 2017, was met with critical acclaim and was #1 in the Latin ITunes and Latin Amazon charts in the beginning of 2018. They were official 2018 TED Speakers and TED en Español Speakers and have toured extensively in the Americas and Europe. They have taught and performed at Dartmouth College and Washington University and were the first artists in residence at George Mason University.
Their most recent album, OYE MUJER, was released July 10, 2020 and premiered in Vogue Brasil and was featured by NPR Alt Latino. They are currently developing music-based curriculum for TeachRock, an initiative of Stevie Van Zandt’s Rock n’ Roll Foundation. They have also been featured on the Latin American Music Awards, All Things Considered, Billboard Magazine, and NPR”s Tiny Desk, among others. They are the recipients of numerous grants and residencies and continue to give all-ages workshops around the world.
